Our History
Calvary Temple opened its doors for ministry in November of 1964.
The late Tui Cakau, Ratu Sir Penaia Ganilau officiated at the opening, with Rev Gene Martin who was instrumental in securing the necessary finances Shared from Gods Word.
Rev Alipate M. Cakau was the senior pastor, with Rev Peni Naituku as his assistant and its board of deacons, the church reached out to the Fijian community.
With God’s help and Rev Cakau's leadership the church grew. He guided the church through four building phases.
Whilst also serving as the general superintendent of the Asssemblies of God in Fiji, Rev Cakau remained in leadership of Calvary Temple until he passed away in December 1996. In January of 1997,his eldest son, Rev Mosese Cakau assumed leadership of the church until today.
The church continues to expand in its mission work at home and abroad, with a weekly
radio ministry that reaches across the nation, with over 20 ministries and satellite churches, it continues to touch lives for the glory of God.
Calvary Temple stands today as a unique testimony to the saving power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the reality of Calvary’s love.
